ANTONIETTA GALATI

Antonietta attended, and graduated from the Michener Institute of Education at UHN with an Advanced Diploma in Podiatric Medicine in 2010.

Previously, she attended York University, graduating from the Kinesiology program, then obtained her diploma in Massage Therapy from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. She has worked in both of these fields prior to becoming a Chiropodist.

In her years of practice, she has become very passionate about sports related cases and biomechanics.  Utilizing footwear, foot specific exercises and custom orthotics in order to alleviate pain and discomfort while improving function.

Diabetes related care is also important to Antonietta's practice. Managing Diabetes related concerns and using mechanics for appropriate off-loading. Although these are high areas of focus for Antonietta, she is skilled to manage all concerns related to and within her scope of practice.

Antonietta works in private practice, and is also clinical faculty to all current year levels at the Michener Chiropody Clinic where she previously worked as the Clinical Coordinator for the student Chiropody intern clinic.  She assists with teaching online courses in the Chiropody program and is the lead facilitator and course lead for the Michener's Continuing Education Course; Footcare Management in Diabetes. She has been part of some great research projects with the Telewound Care Canada SuperCluster and presented qualitative research poster at the SAWC Fall 2022 Conference in Las Vegas, NV.

She has presented at the OSC Conference on AI and Wound Care and has taught seminars on Manual Therapy for Chiropodists.

This Fall, Antonietta is starting her course work in Osteopathy and is looking forward to helping patients with some different skills.
